Sprint PCS Connection Card Brings Mobile Broadband to Ultraportables

Built-in cellular broadband hasn’t yet reached the untraportable notebook computer market, making it considerably harder for users of the devices to get online while on the move.
That’s why Novatel Wireless has teamed up with Sprint Nextel to offer the Merlin S620 and similar Sprint PCS connection cards, allowing users of any compatible laptop to wirelessly access the internet from almost anywhere at speeds of 400 to 700 kilobytes per second.
The S620 Connection Card sells for $99.99 (after rebate) for users willing to commit to a 2-year mobile data contract. Unlimited internet access over Sprint’s network currently costs $79.99 per month, which isn’t cheap for the casual user, but can be very beneficial to mobile businesspeople.
The convenience of accessing the web from anywhere, combined with the money you’ll save on hotspot access could make this device well worth its steep cost.
