The world’s top cell phone maker, Nokia, announced yesterday that it will be integrating Microsoft’s Windows Live Search solution with several of its products, including a number of N-Series and S60 phones.

This agreement builds on a previous deal between Nokia and Microsoft, concerning mobile support for Windows Media Player.

In addition to Windows Live Search, mobile phone users will now be able to check movie times, get stock quotes, and in some markets, access the Encarta encyclopedia from the palms of their hands.

“Adding the advanced searching capabilities of Microsoft’s Live Search to our Mobile Search platform provides our customers with unique and powerful new ways to search the internet on their multimedia computers and many other compatible Nokia mobile devices,” commented Nokia’s vice president of multimedia, Ralph Eric Kunz.

Windows Live will be available in up to 14 languages, and will come pre-installed on the Nokia N70, N71, N73, N93, and N80 Internet Edition, as well as the Nokia 6630, 6680, and 668 handsets. Users of S60 phones will be able to gain access to all the same functionality via a software download.
