Finnish handset giant, Nokia, has just unveiled the N80 Internet Edition, a new and improved version of the N80 multimedia cell phone.
The new device can be used as a traditional cell phone or wireless VoIP handset, and is compatible with online VoIP services such as Skype. It is capable of checking email, sending instant messages, taking 3-megapixel photographs, and sharing images over the internet.
“The Internet has evolved from static Web pages to communities and people sharing experiences. I believe it will be multimedia computers, such as the Nokia N80 Internet Edition, that will be primary devices for people to participate in this phenomenon, in addition to PCs,” said Nokia’s vice president of multimedia, Ralph Eric Kunz, in a statement.
The new N80 will come pre-equipped with Yahoo Go, an application to manage voice messages, emails, contacts, and photos. It is expected to be available by sometime in mid-September.
