UK-based wireless giant, Vodafone, is planning to begin selling a new line of economically priced 3G handsets under its own brand name, according to a source close to the company.

Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer, Huawei Technologies, will manufacture and supply the phones, which will be customized and re-branded by Vodafone itself.

The exact size and value of the Vodafone-Huawei contract is not yet known, but the phones will reportedly be available in all of Vodafone’s major markets on both prepaid and postpaid service contracts.
