Rumors about Apple’s forthcoming iPhone devices have been circulating for over a year now, but some sources are now suggesting that the company will offer at least one of its iTunes cell phone produces for free.

Apple is reportedly negotiating deals with several wireless carriers that would see the iPhone “given” to customers willing to sign a 2- or 3-year service contract. Although one of Apple’s handsets is expected to act as a smartphone, with a built-in keyboard and possibly Wi-Fi capability, the company is also likely to launch another, more economically priced device, which could quite possibly be offered at no charge.

Gaining easier access to the lower-end consumer market is likely the reason why Apple is planning to launch two iPhone devices instead of just one.
