EQO Communications has just released a new version of its multi-format VoIP and instant messaging platform, which allows users to make and receive Skype calls on a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device.
EQO Mobile, as the platform is called, boasts compatibility with AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Instant Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk, MSN Messenger, Jabber, and Skype.
The Vancouver BC-based company is actively working to make the service available on a broad range of handheld devices, so as to bring the benefits of free wireless VoIP calling to a greater number of users around the world. It is now available on over 200 million J2ME-capable handsets and handhelds, EQO claims on its website.
