Research firm, IDC, expects to see the market for wireless music downloads grow exponentially in the years to come, as cell phones become more advanced, and wireless data services increase in popularity.

In fact, the firm believes it quite possible that wireless music downloads will surpass online MP3 sales by the year 2010. The 25-to-44 age demographic is expected to play an important part in this trend.

Although the cost of mobile tracks probably won’t decline much in the foreseeable future, IDC predicts that customers will gradually get used to the idea of paying $2/song, helped along by an increase in cross-promotional marketing campaigns.
