Mobile Display Market Grows 32% in 2005/06

DisplaySearch, a subsidiary of the NPD market research group, has released a report indicating that 275.3 million mobile phone displays were shipped during the second quarter, representing 32% growth over the same period last year.

The biggest manufacturers of mobile display components include Samsung SDI, Philips, Sanyo Epson, Sharp, and Wintek.

Not surprisingly, color displays continue to increase their overall market share, and now account for 84.5% of all mobile screens shipped.
