As the long-range wireless broadband industry slowly develops and high profile tech giants fight for positions in the WiMAX market, the small farming town of Hanna, Alberta is quietly proving the real world application of this cutting edge technology.

This community of under 3,000 people has erected six fully-functional WiMAX towers, bringing high speed wireless internet access to areas with limited DSL and cable modem coverage.

WiMAX has made it possible for many residents of Hanna to access the internet at speeds that were impossible just a couple of years ago, bringing many new opportunities to both businesses and individuals.
