Danish consumer electronics manufacturer, RTX Products A/S, has announced the launch of a new Skype-compatible VoIP handset, which can operate over any “always-on” broadband internet connection, without need of a personal computer.
The new DualPhone 3088 is capable of making and receiving both VoIP calls via Skype, and normal fixed-line calls over a public switched telephone network. It features a color display, which allows users to view their Skype contacts list independently of a computer screen.
This innovative new telecommunications product will be available by December 1st at European retail outlets, and at RTX’s own online store. It carries a suggested retail price of €159, or approximately US$206.
