Denmark Leads OECD Countries in High-Speed Internet Adoption

The number of high-speed internet subscribers in the 28 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries grew from 136 million in June 2005 to 181 million in June of this year, for a total annual growth of 33%.
Denmark managed to grab onto the number one spot in terms of overall penetration, with 29.3 high-speed internet connections per hundred inhabitants. Korea, Iceland, Finland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands were close behind, each having over 25 subscribers per hundred people.
The strongest per-capita broadband market growth was observed in Denmark, Australia, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, Sweden, and the UK, respectively. The USA remains at the top in terms of overall subscribers, with a total market of 57 million.
