As cell phone users clamor for faster cellular broadband services, Rogers Wireless has launched a new high-speed wireless network based on HSDPA mobile technology.

The new service is now available in Canada’s so called “Golden Horseshoe” region, which spans from Oshawa to Niagra Falls, and includes all of Greater Toronto. Existing customers in these areas, who already pay $60/month or more for mobile data, are being given three months of unlimited service on the new network.

In addition to serving cell phone users, the HSDPA service is compatible with the Sierra Wireless AirCard 860, which allows laptop owners to wirelessly connect to the internet over any GSM-based wireless data network.
