Opera Software has announced a key licensing contract with Samsung Electronics, which will see the Opera Mobile web browser installed on a number of Samsung’s internet-enabled cell phones.

“We’re proud that Opera Mobile is today’s choice for Web browsing on the latest Samsung mobile handset because of its winning user experience and form factor adaptation,” commented the Norwegian software developer’s Chief Executive, Jon von Tetzchner.

Although Opera holds a relatively small share of the PC browser market, it is become a dominant force in the wireless web market over the past year or so. The Opera Mobile and Opera Mini browsers now come prepackaged with a number of BlackBerry wireless email devices and Nokia cell phones, as well as the Nintendo Wii video gaming console.
