Samsung aimed to impress today at the ITU Telecom World 2006 conference in Hong Kong, with the introduction of its Ultra-series cellular phones.

The newly unveiled Ultra Music F300 comes equipped with a Bang & Olufsen digital sound amplifier for superior audio quality, as well as a 2-megapixel digital camera and miniSD slot for 2GB of plug-in media storage. The Ultra Video F500, meanwhile, boasts a similar feature set, and is specially optimized for video and multimedia.

The star of Samsung’s new line-up, however, would have to be the Ultra Messaging i600 smartphone, which boasts HSDPA mobile broadband technology, and a Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system with video conferencing functionality, all packed into a super-slim .46-inch design.

These hot new handsets are expected to hit the Asian market in the first quarter of 2007. No word yet on how much they will cost, or when they will be available in North America.
