Verizon Communications has begun marketing the satellite television services of its business partner, DirecTV, to small business customers throughout its service area in the United States.

The two companies have developed special channel lineups that might work well for enterprise customers, and expects the service to be useful for businesses that have a waiting room.

Verizon says that the DirecTV service “enlivens the atmosphere, entertains customers and can reduce perceived waiting times, which can help improve customer satisfaction.”

Basic business subscriptions are now being offered at a monthly price of $67.99, and include 80+ channels of specially selected news, sports, and entertainment programming. Local channels can be added for a fee.

There is also a Commercial Choice Plus package, which includes a wide range of local and regional channels, as well as four channels of ESPN sports content. At a cost of $148.99/month, this package is designed to cater mostly to bars and restaurants.
