Apple may be in for yet another trademark problem if and when it decides to launch the forthcoming iPhone device in the Canadian market.

As it turns out, the name “iPhone” is already being used in Canada by Comwave Telecom Inc., a VoIP provider, which markets an internet based phone service under the name.

Comwave CEO, Yuval Barzakay, told The Globe and Mail that his company is considering its legal options in the event of a conflict with Apple, but reminded reporters that “there’s no confirmed reports that Apple will launch iPhone in Canada.”

Apple is already being sued by Cisco Systems, whose wireless networking division is the legal owner of the iPhone trademark in the United States.
