Convenience and Functionality Attract Small Businesses to VoIP
6:30 am on January 2, 2007 | Category: Business, VoIP
Many small enterprises are beginning to switch to VoIP for more than just cost savings, with 24% of business managers citing increased functionality as a primary reason for adopting the technology, according to a survey by telephony hardware maker, Swyx.
Some of the VoIP’s most attractive features include the ability to receive voicemail messages as email attachments, dial numbers from a digital address book, and easily set up complex conference calls. Another important benefit is the fact that IP phones aren’t dependent on area codes, allowing numbers to be retained despite office moves.
28% of the businesses surveyed selected cost savings as their most important consideration, while others cited things like the accommodation of future enterprise growth, difficulty managing older telephony systems, and ending existing maintenance contracts.
