Entertainment gadgets manufacturer, Sling Media Inc., is continuing its quest to make television and the internet one and the same, by unveiling a new device that lets users surf the web on any compatible TV set.

“I can go to any site, any video content, and get it to play on my big-screen TV,” explained Sling Media CEO, in an interview with Reuters.

The new device, called the SlingCatcher, connects televisions to a user’s home media network over a cable or Wi-Fi network. It is expected to cost around $200, and should be hitting store shelves in mid 2007.

The SlingCatcher could become a nice companion for the company’s original product, the SlingBox, in the constantly-evolving converged home media market.
