Verizon Communications is working hard to roll-out extensive fiber optic television coverage in the state of New Jersey, after receiving a statewide cable franchise last month.
The company has already launched the FiOS TV service in 106 of New Jersey’s 566 cities and towns, and is working to ensure that all neighborhoods and households will be covered.
“Our goal is to serve an entire town, just as we do with our (telephone and internet) networks today,†commented Verizon spokesman, Richard J. Young, who noted that FiOS service would be available in 190 towns by the end of March and nearly 300 at year’s end.
Verizon’s senior VP and general manager for New Jersey, William Foshay, says that the new FiOS offering as “a superior TV service with more channels, more choice, and more value, delivered on an all-fiber, next-generation network.â€
