Networking equipment vendor, Cisco Systems, has agreed to extend iPhone trademark negotiations with Apple into next week, and has set a new deadline for Wednesday.

“Cisco has agreed to give Apple an extension until Wednesday, February 21,” the networking giant explained in a statement statement. “Cisco is fully committed to using the extra time to reach a mutually beneficial resolution.”

Cisco brought a intellectual property lawsuit against Apple last month, after the latter unveiled its new iPod cell phone under the trademarked iPhone brand name.
