smtp.embarqmail.com

Didn't work for a client of mine in Orlando,fL.

This is a business so maybe there is a different smtp needed? The email address is XXX.embarqmail.com

After reading through the posts on this thred... What a zoo! No wonder At&T is coming to change the world. Maybe I should start my own ISP company...I could call it LessthenMediocraty.com, provide half the service and the motto will be "Customers, if I ignore them, maybe they will finaly quit bugging the company."

"However, I couldnt find any information about usenet, or personal web space.

That is because there is no usenet or web space anymore. Getting rid of them was part of Embarq's "upgrade".

While visiting my parents I was surprised to find how terrible their computer was running and how frustrated they were with embarq. The webmail was the first complaint. My parents were told they *had* to use webmail and would not be able to use Outlook. I found this page looking for pop settings. The webmail is terrible. How can anyone read more than a few words at a time? The page had 350+ items to download too. Why did tech support tell them they had to use it?

While trying to help them fix their computer, it kept crashing. The problem was the lousy embarq firewall/popup blocker software. Once I removed this, everything worked as expected.

As for the embarqmail.com domain, it is lengthy, and difficult to communicate to others. If customer satisfaction is their #1 priority, they could easily pay the $10 for another domain and alias it.

The few people who say they work for or represent embarq, yet write incomplete and incoherent sentences, should really stay away from boards like this. Those people just anger the others who see reality, not corporate brainwashing.

For those who dont want to read everything and came looking for pop settings, here you go.
incoming: pop.embarqmail.com
outgoing: smtp.embarqmail.com
login: username@embarqmail.com
