Wireless chipmaker, Qualcomm, remains at loggerheads with Finnish handset giant, Nokia in an ongoing legal battle over technology licensing fees.

Qualcomm filed lawsuits against the cell phone vendor in both American and UK courts last year, and is currently attempting to obtain an international trade injunction barring Nokia from shipping its products to the U.S.

“If they continue to use our intellectual property and aren’t paying for it, we will take whatever steps necessary to protect our rights,” Qualcomm CEO, Paul Jacobs told delegates this week at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. “The negotiating teams are fairly far apart. It is my personal view it will take some external intervention to get some movement.”
