TowerStream Acquires WiMAX Network in Seattle, Washington

Wireless broadband provider, TowerStream, has expanded into the city of Seattle, Washington this week after acquiring the wireless assets of DSL provider, Speakeasy.

TowerStream now operates WiMAX-based broadband networks in seven major U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago, Boston, Las Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Providence, Rhode Island.

The Seattle network consists of five Alvarion BreezeAccess WiMAX base stations located throughout the city’s downtown area, including one atop the Space Needle, a famous landmark and symbol of the Pacific Northwest.
