Sprint Nextel has announced a new deal with U.S. broadcasting giant, CBS, allowing Sprint wireless subscribers to view the hit drama, Jericho and CBS evening news with Katie Couric, on their mobile devices.
Beginning next month, entire episodes of these two shows will be made available alongside clips of other popular CBS programs, including CSI, Numb3rs, NCIS, Survivor, and The Late Show With David Letterman.
The deal will allow CBS to sell advertising across all its programming offered over Sprint’s network.
“With this agreement, CBS is on the forefront of providing a scalable advertising solution for media buyers who want ad time on CBS’s mobile-video content,” explained Cyriac Roeding, the executive vice president of the broadcasting network’s mobile division.
CBS has already signed mobile content partnerships with Verizon and Cingular (AT&T), as well as Qualcomm’s MediaFLO division.
