Cisco Systems revealed earlier this week that it is in the process of acquiring NeoPath Networks, a privately owned provider of file storage management solutions.

NeoPath’s File Director products will be integrated with Cisco’s Data Center, Switching, and Security Technology products, the networking giant explained in a statement. The new technology is expected to enhance Cisco’s Service-Oriented Network Architecture (or SONA).

Terms of the NeoPath purchase, which is expected to close by April 28, were not disclosed.
