Mobile Data Security Becomes a Major Issue for Wireless Carriers

The wireless industry consultants at inCode are predicting that 2007 will be the year when hackers and malware developers really start shifting their attention onto wireless devices, presenting a serious security threat to cell phone users.

Customers are quickly growing even more convened about viruses, attacks, and data security than about device loss or theft, meaning that to keep subscribers happy, carriers will need to put a major effort into securing their networks this year and beyond. This will be especially important for those service providers that offer or hope to offer mobile payment services.
