Telus Mobility has become the first Canadian carrier to offer the latest version of LG’s popular Chocolate cell phone, the Chocolate Flip 8600.

The new handset comes in a cool flip-open design with glowing external music controls. It boasts a wide range of mobile entertainment features including Telus Mobile TV, Mobile Music, Mobile Radio, and downloadable games, as well as GPS navigation and wireless email software.

The Chocolate Flip is also equipped with a 1.3-megapixel digital camera and Bluetooth, and comes with a free 1GB microSD card and stereo headset.

“Telus strives to deliver the newest, most innovative products and services, and we are excited to be the first carrier to bring Canadians the hot new LG Chocolate Flip,” commented the company’s senior VP of Products and Services, Robert Blumenthal. “The LG Chocolate Flip’s stylish design and full line-up of mobile entertainment services are sure to meet the needs of both fashion and technology lovers alike.”

“Canadian consumers are already eating up the LG Chocolate Phone, and they can indulge even more now with the introduction of the LG Chocolate Flip,” added Frank Lee, a manager with LG Electronics Canada. “Sleek and sexy are always in vogue, and the slim LG Chocolate Flip is another great fit for anyone who wants great technology that looks fabulous.”

The new phone is now available at Telus retail outlets, starting at $129.99 on a three-year contract, or $329.99 on a pay-as-you-go basis.
