Enterprise telecom carrier, XO Communications, is extending its NextLink wireless broadband service into Phoenix, Arizona, making that city its tenth urban market for the next-generation business internet offering.

NextLink will initially be deployed in Phoenix’s downtown area, using only one base station, but will gradually be extended to cover the surrounding metropolitan area, including Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, and Tempe.

XO currently holds Local Multipoint Distribution System licenses in 75 U.S. markets, which it intends to use for a nationwide broadband service that will serve as an alternative to fiber and copper networks in urban centers.

Prior to the Phoenix announcement, XO offered the NextLink service in nine cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Tampa, and Washington D.C.\

    1. I live in the UK and there is no real competition here at present. Makes me think of a new earner. See you again.
