Wireless broadband operator, The Cloud, switched on its outdoor Wi-Fi network in the City of London earlier this week, with Finnish handset maker, Nokia, agreeing to sponsor free service for the first month.
The Cloud has worked together with the City of London Corporation to install 127 Wi-Fi nodes around the ‘Square Mile,’ London’s famous financial district, which is home to the Bank of England and the head office of Lloyd’s TSB.
“Metro Wi-Fi networks are changing the face of towns and cities around the world for both public access and public sector applications, ” commented The Cloud’s co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Niall Murphy. “The City of London network is a global benchmark for cities and metro Wi-Fi, and an exciting addition to The Cloud’s network across the UK and our other city networks in Europe.”
Using wireless technology from BelAir Networks, The Cloud is ultimately hoping to cover 95% of the Square Mile district with wireless internet access.

Are you sure this is a “Free Outdoor Wi-Fi Network in London”?
I just tried to use it and it looks to me like you need to pay for it.
Maybe you could get the press office from the cloud to send me instructions on how I use it for free….
