Vodafone Will Hold on to Verizon Wireless Stake

UK-based wireless giant, Vodafone Group PLC, crushed renewed speculation yesterday that it plans to sell its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless, a major American carrier.
“We’re very happy with our stake in Verizon Wireless and that situation has not changed,” a Vodafone spokesman was quoted as saying.
Vodafone co-owns Verizon Wireless, with U.S. telecom provider, Verizon Communications, which has repeatedly expressed interest in buying full control of its own mobile phone division.
