Research In Motion has unveiled its latest wireless email device, the BlackBerry Curve 8300, which combines the QWERTY keyboard of enterprise devices with the style and multimedia functionality of the more consumer-focused BlackBerry Pearl.
The Curve 8300 boasts desktop media management software, developed in cooperation with Roxio, as well as a 2-megapixel digital camera with a built-in flash and 3X digital zoom. Its petite build and gently rounded corners add a new dimension of style to the keyboard-equipped BlackBerry device, while quad-band GSM wireless capability make the forthcoming device a reliable choice for world travelers.
The lack of Wi-Fi or HSDPA data connectivity could be a drawback for mobile internet-oriented users, however, as web surfers are forced to make do with a 2.5G EDGE connection.
America’s largest cell phone carrier, AT&T Wireless, says that it will roll-out the new BlackBerry device throughout the United States by the end of this spring.
