Businesses around the world are increasingly embracing mobility, according to a recent survey of 500 executives, conducted by Nokia, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the CIO Forum.

More than a third of respondents reported that over 20% of their employees could be classified as “mobile workers,” who spend at least one full day a week away from the office

The benefits of employee mobility include reduced operating cost, improved workforce collaboration, and quicker customer response time. These advantages are becoming increasingly apparent to business leaders in a wide range of industries.

“This new direction for corporate mobility is driven by the need to be more connected and more responsive to the customers,” Libretto said. “It’s a competitive drive that is putting the sales force closer to the customers. Mobility provides access to more data on mobile devices without computer connectivity.”
