Toronto-based wireless infrastructure supplier, Redline Communications, has teamed up with telecom consortium, Comcentric Networking Inc., to deploy advanced WiMAX networks for enterprise and residential broadband customers in southwestern Ontario.

Redline’s RedMAX wireless broadband platform offers bandwidth speeds of up to 10-Mbps, and a maximum reach of over 15 kilometers, allowing it to support thousands of users with a single base station. Service will be offered by Comcentric’s carrier members and other telecoms, mobile operators, and ISPs serving southern Ontario.

“The wait for WiMAX is over,” commented Tim DeWeerd, the General Manager of Quadro Communications, and a director at Comcentric. “Redline’s RedMAX solutions have enabled us to roll out wireless Internet services in selected coverage areas to meet consumer demands for true broadband speeds and support for data and voice communications.”

“Rural businesses and residents in our region who previously had no access to broadband services via traditional wireline networks can now connect using the most advanced broadband wireless technologies available,” DeWeerd went on to say.
