Alcatel-Lucent to Deploy Optical Broadband Network for Hanaro Telecom

Transatlantic telecom gear maker, Alcatel-Lucent, has won a contract to supply Korean broadband provider, Hanaro Telecom, with optical networking equipment.
Alcatel-Lucent revealed in a statement that it will deploy the network over the coming weeks, and hopes to complete the process by the end of the third quarter. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Hanaro’s Chief Technology Officer, Seung-Seog Lee, commented that Alcatel’s networking solution would allow his company “to deliver the most advanced services with the highest quality and reliability.”
Hanaro Telecom is South Korea’s second largest broadband service provider with 3.66 million high-speed internet customers and 1.86 million telephone subscribers.
