Wireless MVNO, Amp’d Mobile, which filed for bankruptcy last month, is officially closing shop, and notified customers of the shut-down via a network-wide text message on Monday.

The Los Angeles-based company says that it is in discussions to move its customers to other wireless carriers, and will continue offering service until at least July 31. All early termination fees ceased to apply as of Tuesday morning.

Amp’d Mobile attempted to target a younger market by leasing network facilities from Verizon Wireless, then reselling voice services in conjunction with music and video offerings. It generated publicity by sponsoring a number of action-sporting events, but was unable to generate a profit.

Amp’d's demise follows the closure of another widely publicized American MVNO, ESPN Mobile, which threw in the towel late last year.
