Vonage Offers Two Months of Free VoIP Service to SunRocket Orphans
6:30 am on July 18, 2007 | Category: Telecom Services, Telephone, VoIP
America’s leading pure-play VoIP provider, Vonage, is offering two months of free broadband phone service to former clients of its smaller rival, SunRocket, which went out of business earlier this week.
Vonage will transfer any phone number formerly associated with SunRocket, free of charge, to its U.S. Residential Premium Unlimited Plan. This service includes unlimited local and long distance calling within the United States and Canada, and typically costs $24.99 per month, but is now available free for the first two months for all SunRocket orphans.
Customers can call 1-800-833-4806 to take advantage of this special offer.
It will be interesting to see just how many users take advantage of this offer. It’s a great deal after all, but a lot of SunRocekt’s victims customers may be cautious of signing up with another independent, unprofitable provider who’s long-term prospects are far from certain.
