America’s largest phone carrier and third largest ad buyer, AT&T Inc., is looking for a single advertising agency to handle all of its media planning and purchases.

The San Antonio-based company announced earlier this week that it hoped to reduce marketing expenses, and would solicit bids from all of its current media-buying agencies, including Omnicom Group, Interpublic Group, and WPP Group PLC.

AT&T hopes to reach a decision, and begin consolidating all of its ad spending with a single company by the end of this year.
