U.S. telecom giant, Qwest Communications, has begun offering high-definition television content to its Qwest Choice TV subscribers in Phoenix, Arizona.

FSN Arizona, Universal HD, Golf/Versus HD, ASUtv, and KPHE-TV are some of the channels being offered in high-definition format.

“This expansion of Qwest Choice TV programming gives customers access to an even broader programming lineup — both local and high-definition,” commented Qwest’s Arizona president, Pat Quinn. “Offering even more local and high-definition television programming is another example of Qwest’s commitment to providing customers with everything they need to stay connected to the people and things important to them at a great value.”

Qwest has not yet moved into the mainstream fiber-optic TV market like its larger rivals, AT&T and Verizon, but has launched local video services in Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado.
