Alvarion Ltd., a leading provider of wireless broadband technology, announced yesterday that telecom regulators in the United States and Canada have certified its new BreezeACCESS VL multipoint WiMAX system, which operates in the 5.3-GHz and 5.4-GHz license-exempt spectrum bands.
The new regulatory certifications are evidence that Alvarion’s BreezeACCESS technology complies with the FCC’s Dynamic Frequency Selection requirements, intended to prevent disruptions to military radar signals.
“Since its release in 2002, Alvarion has continued to enhance BreezeACCESS VL to meet the challenging demands of service providers using 5 GHz,” said the president of Alvarion Inc., Greg Daily. “BreezeACCESS VL remains a critical part of our business and is the primary technology for countless operators in North America. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer the new 5.4 GHz and 5.3 GHz FCC-certified versions so quickly to the market, where they will open many more doors for our customers to increase subscriber revenue.”
