Verizon Wireless brought its V CAST Mobile TV offering to yet another U.S. state yesterday, announcing availability of the service in central Arkansas.
V CAST Mobile TV is based on Qualcomm’s MediaFLO technology, and allows cell phone users to view live network TV shows and bonus mobile content on the go. Verizon’s mobile television content parters include CBS, Fox, NBC News, NBC Entertainment, ESPN, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and MTV.
The V CAST service costs between $13 and $25 per month, and comes equipped with parental control features, allowing parents to monitor and restrict which programming their kids can and can’t view.
“This goes way beyond any other video offerings in the wireless market right now,” commented Luis M. Cruz, a regional executive for Verizon Wireless. “No buffering. No lag time. It’s like flipping on your television at home. You absolutely have to see it to believe the quality of this service.”
