The latest version of Motorola’s Q smartphone went on sale this week through the Verizon Wireless website, and will be available at Verizon’s U.S. retail outlets, including those in Circuit City, beginning on August 29.

The “Q9m” is a spin-off of Motorola’s first email smartphone to feature a full QWERTY keyboard. It features an improved keyboard, more battery life, and runs on a Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system.

This new version is also optimized for music, featuring two stereo speakers and a dedicated Verizon V CAST interface. It retails for $300, after a $50 mail-in rebate, and with a two-year Verizon Wireless service agreement.
