Alcatel-Lucent and its distribution partner, Comment Supply, announced yesterday that they have landed a deal to upgrade the EV-DO cell phone networks of Nex-Tech Wireless to conform with the faster EV-DO Revision A standard.
Nex-Tech selected Alcatel-Lucent’s CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A solution to enhance its networks in central and western Kansas, as well as eastern Colorado.
The Revision A standard continues to evolution of CDMA2000 technology, allowing for data transfer rates of up to 3.1-Mbps downstream and 1.8-Mbps upstream. These enhanced speeds will reduce latency and enable Nex-Tech to deliver interactive and multimedia services.
“We have had a longstanding relationship delivering Alcatel-Lucent wireless solutions, and we are excited to help Nex-Tech Wireless take the next step to Rev. A as it evolves its network and wireless broadband capabilities for its growing customer base,” commented Bill Levy, the COO of Commnet Supply, which has agreed to deliver, install, and maintain the Alcatel-Lucent solution.
