After months of speculation, T-Mobile USA, have finally unveiled two new members of its growing line of Sidekick devices. The LX and Slide models are manufactured by Sharp and Motorola, respectively.

Sharp’s Sidekick LX boasts the same 0.9-inch thickness as its predecessor, the Sidekick 3, while its weight has been reduced from 7- to 5.7-ounces. The LX model features a 3-inch WQVGA display, with an improved swivel joint, and a glowing outer edge which acts as a status indicator. It will be available on October 17, at a cost of US$299, with a 2-year T-Mobile contract.

Motorola’s Sidekick Slide, meanwhile, comes with slightly fewer features and a screen that slides upwards rather than swiveling. It will be launched on November 7, with a price tag of US$199.

Both models feature GSM/EDGE mobile data access, microSD memory expansion, and Sidekick’s unique mobile messaging software, as well as MySpace capability, and a 1.3-megapixel digital camera.
