AT&T Wireless Modifies Contract Termination Policy, Increases Flexibility
5:30 am on October 18, 2007 | Category: Telecom Services, Wireless, Cell Phones
America’s top mobile phone provider, AT&T Inc., announced on Tuesday that it is reducing the termination fees charged to subscribers that cancel their wireless service agreements, in an effort to offer more flexibility to consumers.
AT&T customers who exit their contracts early will no longer be required to pay a flat termination fee, but instead have the charge pro-rated based on the amount of time left on the contract.
In addition to this, contract-bound customers will be able to switch to a different level of service without financial penalty, and without being forced to sign a new contract.
These key changes in AT&T policy is sure to give the company a new edge in the ongoing competition for the business of skeptical late adopters, who are only now looking into the possibility of owning a cell phone.
