The Brazilian wireless market continued to experience healthy growth in September with 1.8 million new cell phone subscriptions activated over the course of the month, according to preliminary data from Anatel.
This growth rate failed to match August, however, when a record 2.41 million mobile lines were activated in South America’s most populous country.
A total of 12.84 million new mobile subscribers were added in the first three quarters of this year, according to Anatel, 32.9% more customer activations than in the same period last year. Brazil’s total wireless user base now stands at an impressive 112.75 million.
