Swedish telecom equipment maker, Ericsson, announced yesterday that it had won a multi-year contract to manage the technology behind AT&T Inc.’s prepaid wireless services in the United States and Puerto Rico.

“Under the contract, Ericsson will be responsible for hosting, systems integration and management of the day-to-day operations of the pre-paid service for AT&T,” the company said in a statement.

The contract adds three and a half years to an existing arrangement, under which Ericsson provides real-time billing services for AT&T’s GoPhone wireless offering. Financial terms of the new agreement were not released.
