Motorola Adds Nine New Handsets to Holiday Lineup

American cell phone manufacturer, Motorola, unveiled nine new handsets late last week, in hopes of boosting its declining market share this Christmas shopping season.
Among the new products is the music-enabled RAZR2 V8, which is the latest successor to Motorola’s once best-selling RAZR handset. This model features an ultra-slim luxury design with gold-plated accents, snake skin texture, and enough storage space for 1,000 songs.
The company also introduced another lightweight music phone, the Moto U9, which is set for availability in Asia, Latin America, and Europe later this quarter. Similar in many ways to the PEBL, it comes in a rounded clamshell design with 4GB of storage space, built-in stereo Bluetooth, and a 2-megapixel digital camera with 8x zoom.
In addition to this, Motorola unveiled seven new W-series phones, designed to target style conscious users at an affordable price point. Several of the devices feature Motorola’s proprietary CrystalTalk technology, which automatically adjusts audio volume to enable clear calls in noisy environments.
“These devices are designed for consumers who are purchasing their first mobile phone, for those who simply want to talk and message on an easy-to-use phone or for those who are looking to upgrade a basic phone,” explained Motorola Mobile Devices president, Stu Reed.
