42% of small business owners could not make do without wireless technology, and 51% are more reliant on mobile phones, PDAs, and PC data cards than they were two years ago, according to a recent telephone survey, conducted on behalf of AT&T Inc.

A full 55% of the 1,000 respondents, meanwhile, expected to depend even more on wireless technologies over the next two years.

“Wireless technology is a critical tool that allows small business owners to stay in touch with customers, suppliers and staff while on the go,” commented IDC analyst, Carrie MacGillivray, on these results. “It is not surprising that small businesses indicate that wireless communications capabilities play a critical role in business success.”
