American consumers are growing increasingly comfortable with the idea of viewing video – particularly television programming – on computers and mobile phones instead of a standard TV set, according to new research by ChoiceStream.
The survey, entitled “Video Trends in TV and Online Video,†found that 55% of adult internet users had watched television on a device other than their TV set. Younger people, aged 18-to-24, are leading the shift in viewing habits, with some 66% of them watching video on non-traditional devices.
Made-for-TV programming is now the most popular type of online content, and is watched by some 65% of online video users. Around 39% of users, meanwhile, watched user-generated video content.
Personal Computers are the most popular alternative to standard television sets, ChoiceStream found, with 36% of consumers watching TV on a PC. One third of these users say they watch at least four hours of online TV a week.

Mobile TV technology is getting better and better each month. Verizon will be streaming live full length college football bowl games this month – that’s totally insane for football fans on the go.

There are a lot of new internet TV sites out there. most of them offer a free trial or preview and then they make you pay to sign up, or are cluttered with ads. I think that is ridiculous… so ive done my research and have found a couple of really decent sites. The first one Id like to draw your attention to is (http://www.viewmy.tv) This site has almost 1300 channels from around the globe and counting. it is free to register and they dont ask for stupid details, just your username and email address. It actually streams live channels so you dont have to download any and they have a pretty easy way of finding the channel you want. You can search through genre, country, region or name of the channel. oh and there are no ads either. Check this one out. With over 1300 channels from hundreds of countries, loads of features like channel rating, user recommendations, live chat, profile pages and much much more.

Are you serious! I just checked out the view my tv site you mentioned and it’s pretty awesome. Not all of the channels are working, but still, it’s pretty cool.. Thanks for the link, I’ve bookmarked it already.
