Research In Motion’s BlackBerry device will make its long-awaited debut in China by the end of this month, according to a recent article by Interfax China.

State-owned wireless giant, China Mobile, has ordered 10,000 BlackBerry 8700 devices, which it will sell at a retail price of approximately $470, under the dual brand name: “Alcatel BlackBerry 8700.” (Alcatel-Lucent is Research In Motion’s distributor in China.)

Research In Motion is hoping that the Chinese BlackBerry launch will help spur its sales to make up for an anticipated drop in orders due to an ongoing crunch in the North American financial services industry.
